Motherhood is not always what I expected it to be. I am beginning to get paranoid that I am 'that' mum who you sometimes see barely keeping her head above water amidst a tangled mess of children, nappies, bottles and goes round with porridge on her face. I forget my kids names sometimes. Is that normal?!
Whenever I catch myself wallowing in self-pity however, I always think of the woman with 15 kids I saw on TV. Oh.my.goodness. That woman is a God.
Saying that, there are those joyous moments that come with motherhood that remind you that your kids mean everything in the world. We don't have much money, and we no longer go on nice holidays. But our kids are our treasure.
Being a mother makes you realise how much your own mum sacrificed in bringing you into the world. I am so lucky to have such a wonderful mum, and am grateful to her for bringing me up to appreciate everything I have.
I ABSOLUTELY love these pictures SOOOO much - I always want to have kids when I see all your family photos. Its real and its beautiful (even with nappes sick and crazies) :D love ya Mary
ReplyDeleteI think your doing just fine with your kids, Mary. Your visits, and these photos are the proof. I'm not at that stage in my life where I have to care for children, but I can already tell its no small feat, and your smashing it out of the court as far as I'm concerned.
ReplyDeleteKeep doing what your doing with your lovely children, they are amazing because of you (love Sam's facial expressions).
