I already know 2013 will be an exciting year for us, with many exciting changes ahead, including a brand new sproglet! It is getting near eviction time now, and I am all read-up on breastfeeding, birth positions etc. I am supermum in the making!
I like to look back on the previous year and pick up the positive things. 2012 was a great year for us. It was not full of exciting changes -sometimes we have years like that when it feels like nothing major has happened. But those years are no less precious. Time spent together watching your kids grow up is in itself a wonderful gift. Plus, in order to achieve big things like career changes, buying a house and becoming great parents it takes time and patience. I am not a very patient person, so I need plenty of practice!
Goals we achieved in 2012;
- I/we grew another baby (mostly me!)
- Gorgeous 5th wedding anniversary in Marrakech.
- Our little girl turned 2.
- We continued with our savings.
- Driving.
- I became more sewing machine savvy.
- Ryan completing most of his gas engineer course.
- Me completing 2 more modules of my Masters degree.
- Exploring more of the UK, including travelling up to Northumberland and Scotland.
- Optimism and enthusiasm for life (obviously an ongoing thing!)
My goals for 2013;
- Being a great mother to my 2 kids (aka surviving!)
- Hot air balloon ride for my 30th plus old lady party (watch this space)
- Completing the first year of masters (one module to go!)
- Ryan complete his Gas portfolio
- Lighthouse getaway
- Save up for our 7th wedding anniversary in Lapland
- Take the kids to their first ever music festival, and camping trip (already booked!)
- Be a great wife and spend more time with hubby.
- Continue to save the pennies for our dream house
- Continue to explore new places
We have had a busy 2013 so far! The other week we had a weekend away in North Yorkshire in anticipation of our 6th wedding anniversary (Samuel will likely ensure we cannot celebrate on our actual anniversary!). I really wanted to see a few more national trust places around there to tick off my list.
So we visited Castle Howard and Brimham rocks. Plus a lovely walk round glorious York - no matter how many times I go there I never tire of the quaint shops and beautiful sights.
Besides the fact I couldn't finish my cooked breakfast, the sausages and egg were meant to be a 6!!
Strange snacking habits? I looked up sixth wedding anniversary and it's meant to be iron and sugar. So I figured :)
Plus, our little girl turned a big 3. She had a fab time, although mummy was a tad exhausted by the end of it!
Here's to a great rest of 2013!!!
